"We've heard from a lot of them (Tea Party candidates) from around the country, but I don't think anyone has counted them yet," said JB Williams, who runs (a) conservative web site. . . . "But we'll see more of them as the year goes on.. . . .This is a movement that is determined to enact change peacefully," he added. "But if someone tries to stop them, don't be surprised if they resort to other means."
What does that mean? Anarchy? Really? In other words, if I don't get my way, even if the laws which I don't like are passed by our elected officials, I will kill you? This is stupid Civil war rhetoric. Insanity.
When one shot is fired, the returning volley will be at you. Are these middle aged complainers really ready for endless violence in the streets, in their cul de sacs? Scenes from out of the Middle East? I think not. I think we have a bunch if chicken hawks here. And that's why these "ME" party complainers will fall apart without a whimper when the going gets really tough.
They should take a lesson from our Great president Obama who is one tough cookie not to be underestimated. Who leads without violence and sticks to his principles even when the going gets extremely rough, where he is unfairly ridiculed for every move he makes. This makes the "ME" party gleeful. This is an indication of their character.
The "ME" party seems to be for constitutionally limited government, free market ideology and low taxes. Who isn't? But that is a bit simplistic isn't it, in a complex economy? We tried free market ideology and Wall Street got drunk, and we are now suffering the hangover. The wealthy did okay, but we common folk lost our jobs and our homes. How come we are not mad about that? Of course, these "ME" party people are simplistic. There is only black and white, so to speak. And they white. It's as simple as that.
(AP dated 03/20/10) ". . . on a day marked by a frenetic hunt for votes inside the Capitol, angry tea party demonstrations at the door. . . . . Some protesters hurled racial insults at black members of Congress. . . . . Some among the crowd chanted "the N-word, the N-word, 15 times."
ME! That's who is important. Not people of color who should go back to their own country because we don't want them here, or old people who if they haven't saved enough for their retirement can live on the streets for all the "ME" party cares. Not kids who can't afford college because their parents are lazy and only work two jobs at slave wages and no health care. The hell with them. None of MY taxes are going to educate the young. Let them fend for themselves. The government is not in the business of education. We will educate our own kids, Yeah. Then we will be right up there with the rest of the world. Yeah.
ME! That's what is important. Not the sick who can't afford health care - it's their fault for not going to college and getting a good job with benefits. And not the disabled. It's their fault for not taking care of themselves eating healthy food and exercising that got them in trouble, so live with it, the "ME" party won't help. Take care of yourself like we do. If you can't take care of yourself, then the "ME" party will give you a one way ticket out of our country. Good riddance.
ME! That's what is important. Not homeless beggars that trash out our beautiful streets so that we can't even enjoy them anymore, They should all be put in prisons. And not federal prisons - we don't want the government involved. The "ME" party will pay for the new prisons. Our perfect world will only be perfect when we get rid of all these undesirables. Then watch how great our country will be. Right.
Believe it or not, this is what these infantile minds come up with. To put these people in control would be the biggest mistake that our country could ever make, even greater than the Ronald Reagan fiasco, which is hard to compare with regarding the damage he and his policies have done to the poor and middle class over the last thirty years.
In contrast, the "WE," party, spelled W-E is the Democratic Party. Period. It has always been that way. It is the Democrats that have protected the rights of the oppressed, of people of color, of the homeless, the destitute, the hopeless. Caring for the sick, helping the old, standing up for equality, and passing social programs that have made the lives of the oppressed, the poor, the homeless, the old and sick livable. This is an obvious fact.
So you can choose between the "ME" party and the "WE" party. If you think it is all about you, then choose "ME." If you think it is all about us, then choose "WE." But whichever you choose, there will be a reckoning, someday.
I will close with a Bible passage contributed by a good Christian friend of mine:
1 John 4:10, "If anyone says, 'I love God,' yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother ... cannot love God."
Good luck to you, and your final destiny my friend.

Top-level comments on this article: (3 total)FANTASTIC article, E! I especially like your Bible quote. Something the 'me' people conveniently forget. I really hope you are right about the "me" party fading away when the going gets tough. The quote is from Bruce Horst! People who are racist are cowards. Thanks for the great comment and rating Joyce.
Metta.....eThe quote is from Bruce Horst!
People who are racist are cowards. They can shout the "N" word when surrounded by their own animalistic kind, but put them in a dark alley face to face, alone with the an "N" and watch their tail quickly drop between their animal legs.
Thanks for the great comment and rating Joyce.

Good article e, in my younger days I would always preach "WE" over "I" and yes I am a natural democrat. You are naturally for people, which takes us out of the animal realm. Thanks David!
Very well stated. The tea party will be forgotten by November, or at least remain as inconsequential as it truly is. There is no coherent message, except of course to disagree with everything. Great article. Thanks Mike, kind of hate to see them go. Oh, did Rush ever leave the country? I'd hate to see him go as well. Their insanity really helped Obama, and if they go and are replaced by a moderate like Scot Brown, us Democrats will have some work to do. Where's Sarah when we need her! :)
